Decorative stone soap manufacture:

The soapstone used by the artisans of Kisii Tabaka comes near Lake Victoria. His real name is actually the Kisii stone but it is also called soapstone because the process to make a deco object requires a particular method. Kisii stone is soft, mainly composed of talc.

After buying the stone extracted from quarries in Tabaka, craftsmen cut the latter in different forms: squares, rectangles. This is the beginning of the creation of future articles.

The blocks of stone once roughed down to the desired size will be carved to shape the various and sundry items (statues, candle holders, glass books ..).

The objects created are rough, they keep track of tools used by craftsmen to shape the piece and the color of natural stone (due to mineral soil).

Our craftsmen have eased stone, were carved to take shape, it only remains to polish this one to eliminate even the appearance of raw material.

The objects are carved polished and water by hand with sandpaper to remove all traces associated with the manufacture and provide a smooth, soft and silky.

After rinsing and drying all the parts, they will be waxed for a natural or decorated and then waxed tinged.
