Textile designer for 28 years, Ronel Jordaan is inspired by the elements of nature and gives free rein to his imagination, using as an expression of preference to the felted wool hand.
This material utility, used for centuries, is obtained by rubbing together wool fibers that interlock.

A unique process …

Ronel has designed and developed a technique of felting single flow to make large parts of the image sizes of the cushions and poufs “Rock” which does not involve stuffing or sewing.

A social consciousness …

Ronel has trained in the art of felting a group of women from disadvantaged backgrounds. These women are now closely associated with all of his creations.

These women produce items with Ronel and began to create their own designs with her help. Through this project, they have a decent income for themselves and their families, enabling them to consider a more peaceful future.

An environmental awareness …

“Respect for the environment and sustainable development are not Ronel trend but part of his ethics.”

The fibers used in its manufacture (merino wool, cotton, linen & silk) are all natural and renewable. They all come from South Africa. Moreover, water used for felting in her studio apartment is fully recycled and reused.

Ronel’s creations have been presented around the world.

- Recently SIDIM in Montreal where he was awarded in May 2007 an award of excellence for all its designs.

- VISI magazine was nominated in 2006 among the Top 10 South African designers and magazine Elle Decoration awarded him an Elle Decor International Design Award in 2005. (Price EDIDA)
